Flattering and Sexy Boudoir Poses and Our Favorite Props

Photographing boudoir in our Loft Studio has become quite popular. We understand why. It’s private, has amazing window light, feels like home with a modern black iron bed, neutral bedding, and fun props like our arched mirror, pampas grass vases, and chairs.

So we thought we would compile a blog post of some of our favorite ways photographers have utilized this studio and posed their clients to make some boudoir magic. Every image is linked to social media account of the amazing photographer that created it. We encourage you to give them a follow and if you find one’s style you love, book them for your own session! You won’t regret it!

We absolutely love how Justine of Bloom and Grow PNW posed her client on the bed here. She used a loose sheet we have folded on our shelf in the loft and had her drape it from her chin down to softly fall between her legs while she sits on her knees on the bed. The slight gold arch of the mirror and the wardrobe screen add the perfect amount of bedroom detail in the background.

Another fun way Justine styled this client was to have her lean against our decorative wall. She hung our floral tapestry from the ceiling rafters using clamps and painters tape we provide to create a unique and feminine backdrop.

Hi heels and a sexy back arch pose is always a good idea! We love how Jodi of Boudoir by J. McClain situated our rattan chair in front of the window and had her client strike this pose! The added detail our faux fur throw adds on the chair is also much apprectiated. What a stunning image!

Hello Sexy bridal boudoir! Heels and just a veil? Yes please! We also love the second image where Jodi has styled her client with her back to the camera and a massive back arch. Sexy and so flattering!

Our mouths dropped wide open when we saw this image. How stunning is a fabulous hair flip while sitting on the side of the bed? Show stopping image! We also love how it shows the lofty ceiling rafters in our studio. The whole image has such a modern and artistic vibe. Courtesy of Erin, Moonlight Boudoir Studio.

Our gold arched mirror has been an absolute favorite prop for most photographers. Lauren, of Lo Ashley Boudoir captures some serious fire using the mirror as a prop. Her couples boudoir session had us sweating! What we love about both of these poses is the slight knee pop the female is doing in both images. Notice it’s the leg that is closest to the camera that is popping. This is super flattering for most female bodies because it shows the beautiful shape of her body and slims and lengthens the shape of her leg. When your model straightens that front leg and pushes her hips towards the camera, it can create the opposite affect by making her legs/hips appear bigger than they actually are.

Lastly, we LOVE how Cheyenne of Cheyenne K. Portraits used this flowy, feminine shrug to create movement and visual interest. Movement can be so flattering and super sexy when executed correctly. Some key points to note are that the client’s face and bust are facing the light source, highlighting her gorgeous silhouette and beautifully intense eyes. Just stunning.

We hope you enjoyed this blog post and walked away with a few new social media accounts to follow, some ideas on how you want to use our studio for your own sessions, and maybe even a photographer booked for your own session! Keep up the good work!
